Hollywood’s Star-Studded Weekend At The 31ST SAG Award

Hollywood enjoyed a whirlwind of activity this past weekend, with major events taking place back-to-back. On Saturday, celebrities dazzled on the red carpets at both the Film Independent Spirit Awards and the N.A.A.C.P. Image Awards. Just a day later, the stars were back in the spotlight for the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the ceremony celebrated outstanding performances in film and television at the Hollywood’s Star-Studded Weekend. In a poignant gesture, the awards also paid tribute to those affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, including members of the local Fire Department, some of whom donned their formal uniforms as they walked the red carpet.

While some attendees opted for more traditional attire, others brought a splash of extravagance to the event. Actresses like Mikey Madison, Brooke Shields, and Moeka Hoshi turned heads in shimmering silver gowns that sparkled brilliantly under the lights. Actors such as Jeff Goldblum and Colman Domingo accessorized their formal wear with stylish scarves and eye-catching jewelry. However, a select group of 14 individuals truly stood out with their unique fashion choices.

One standout was the “Wicked” star, who wore an eye-catching ensemble crafted from woven silver fabric that fringed elegantly. This striking piece was an archival design from Givenchy, dating back to the Alexander McQueen era, and bore a striking resemblance to the foil blankets typically worn by marathon runners.

Another highlight was the actress from “The Last Showgirl,” who exuded an ethereal charm with her side-swept bangs, a pristine white Dior gown, and minimal makeup. The single caped sleeve of her gown evoked an angelic quality, enhancing her heavenly appearance.

The “Shogun” actress made a bold statement in an eye-catching Armani Privé dress that featured a stunning red and sparkly front, paired with a velvety black back, reminiscent of the excitement found in a classic casino game.

Timothée Chalamet, known for his role in “A Complete Unknown,” turned heads in a daring outfit that included a leather suit, a neon green shirt, and a bolo tie, drawing inspiration from a similar look worn by Bob Dylan, as shared on his stylist’s Instagram.

The “Emilia Pérez” actress, who is also the founder of Rare Beauty, showcased elegance in a dark Celine gown that framed her décolletage perfectly, complemented by a sleek bob and bold red lipstick.

As the tradition of fashion on the SAG AWARDS red carpet continued, another notable look came from an actress whose transformation from her role in “Stranger Things” was on full display, as she rocked a slinky peach-pink Louis Vuitton gown that evoked a Malibu Barbie aesthetic, enhanced by her bronzed skin and platinum blonde hair.

Meanwhile, an actor from “The Apprentice” donned a vibrant green suit paired with shiny black shoes, reminiscent of a whimsical Lucky Charms spokesman — if only a pot of gold had accompanied him.

The voluminous gown worn by the “Wicked” actress possessed a remarkable quality: from certain angles, it concealed her wheelchair entirely as she glided down the carpet. Its dark fabric was adorned with a constellation of beads, drawing comparisons to a beloved dessert.

The actress from “The Piano Lesson” turned heads in an architectural red Louis Vuitton gown that boasted both delicacy and geometric shapes, reminiscent of the iconic Akari paper lights created by sculptor Isamu Noguchi.

The “Outer Banks” actor embraced a preppy aesthetic in a Valentino ensemble featuring a navy blazer, a blue button-down shirt, and khakis, topped off with a playful polka-dot scarf in lieu of a traditional tie.

An actress from “The Diplomat” wore a stunning Ashi Studio dress that featured spiky shoulder embellishments, evoking the image of vibrant sea anemones.

Another actress showcased a pale beaded Armani gown adorned with dark squiggles, each mimicking the flair and whimsical shape of a mustache.

The actor from “The Diplomat” presented a striking contrast in his ensemble, featuring classic white-tie elements from the waist up, while a flowing pleated skirt added a non-traditional twist, courtesy of Brooklyn-based label Sivan.

Lastly, the actress and current SAG-AFTRA president, long known for her monochromatic suits in “The Nanny,” brought back her silky blush Alexander McQueen suit, previously worn at the 2022 Director’s Guild of America Awards, proving that some styles are simply timeless.
